Free Public Domain or Original self-published books
The default download format on Feedbooks is the EPUB format, which is the industry standard. This format is readable on practically any device, except Kindle. Find out more about compatible devices and reading systems in our supported devices and ecosystem pages. When you click on the "Download" button you get a DRM-free epub file, which you can read on the device of your choice.
These catalogs are also available in other formats, including personalized pdf, and Amazon's proprietary Kindle format (mobipocket). To download one of these formats, click on the title or the cover of the book to go to its details page, then choose the format you want from the Download menu.
Books purchased in our eBook store
Our eBook store ONLY sells epub format. You will not be able to download your book in a different format. Epub format is NOT COMPATIBLE with Kindle. When you buy a book in our ebook store, you'll receive a confirmation email with a link to download your book. You can also download your book at any time from your Feedbooks Bookshelf (link at the top right of the page, when you are connected to your account).
DRM-free or Watermarked books
can be downloaded directly, by clicking the download link or button. You can verify whether your book is DRM-free or watermarked by checking the properties listed in the book's details page (click on the title or the cover to get there), directly to the right of the cover image, under the heading "Protection".
If your book has DRM,
to download it to your PC, you'll need to install the application Adobe Digital Editions (free). You'll find a step-by-step illustrated guide here: http://www.feedbooks.com/help/adobe-de
If you are using a Sony Reader T1, you'll need to use Sony's Reader Library app on your computer for your first download, and to transfer your book to your Reader via usb. This is to authorise the Reader to your account, for books with DRM. After doing this once with Reader Library, your Reader will be correctly authorised to your account, and you'll be able to download your books directly via wifi.
Once you download your book to your computer using ADE, the epub file can be found in the folder "My Documents > My Digital Editions".
You can find out whether your book has DRM by checking the properties listed in the book's details page (click on the title or the cover to get there), directly to the right of the cover image, under the heading "Protection".
